SAINT GEORGE
Malankara Orthodox Church Ottawa

By the Grace of God, and with the blessings of H.G. Zachariah Mar Nicholovas Metropolitan, the Ottawa St. George community was established to fulfill the pastoral and sacramental needs of the faithful who expressed a desire to form a Parish in Ottawa. Through his Kalpana (official decree), Thirumeni entrusted the spiritual oversight of this emerging community, which is placed under the protection of St. George the Martyr, a symbol of unwavering faith and courage.
Our journey began with the first prayer meeting on May 26, 2024, held at Blackburn Hamlet Community Hall, where faithful members gathered in prayer and fellowship, seeking God's guidance and blessings. By God's grace, we celebrated our first Holy Qurbana on June 30, 2024, on the blessed Feast of the Apostles, marking a significant milestone in the establishment of our parish. This first Holy Qurbana was held at Paroisse Notre-Dame-des-Champs, 3739 Navan Road, which continues to serve as our place of worship.
Since our humble beginnings, the Ottawa St. George community has grown into a vibrant and faithful congregation, united by our commitment to worship, service, and spiritual growth. We strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals and families can deepen their faith, participate in the sacraments, and engage in fellowship. Through regular Holy Qurbana, prayer meetings, and community activities, we seek to uphold the rich traditions of our Church while fostering a spirit of love and unity.
We warmly invite all who are seeking a spiritual home to join us in worship and fellowship. With God's grace, we continue our mission to serve the spiritual and communal needs of our members and to share the light of Christ with the world around us.
